Snowboarding has enjoyed a huge surge in interest over recent years
and is an exciting and challenging sport. YAV is able to offer tuition
for the complete novice to the more skilled snowboarder.
Please note: Those wishing to snowboard must have a minimum
size 5 shoe.

Junior Snowboard School
Junior Snowboard School is a group lesson taking
children from novices through to confident and proficient
snowboarders. The Snowboard School is tremendous fun and allows
children to develop their skills at a pace that suits them.
Adult Classes
For adults, YAV regularly runs one hour beginner
and intermediate classes. These classes are designed to take
you to a basic level of proficiency, are tremendous fun and
a social event in their own right.

Private lessons
Private tuition with a dedicated instructor is a perfect
way to learn quickly, if time is limited. Private lessons are also
a good way to gain confidence if you are unsure of your ability
or simply to refresh your skills have you not boarded for a while.
A great deal can be covered in a one hour lesson, making a session
great value for money. For parties of 5 or more group lessons are
available.
YAV Foundation course
If you would like to reach a decent level of proficiency
quickly, then we would recommend a fast track approach with a YAV
Foundation Course. This comprises three private lessons booked and
paid for in one block with, wherever possible, the same instructor
throughout.
Schools, Colleges and Groups
YAV offers group tuition to educational establishments
and groups, at special rates. This group tuition is the perfect
preparation for ski trips as well as an interesting addition to
any physical education programme.
Please note: All schools and class places must be booked
in advance as places are limited. Private lessons must be booked
in advance and paid in full at time of booking.

Open Practice
For the more experienced snowboarder, we recommend
you make the most of our three graded slopes, with an open
practice session. Open practice is available at all times.
Board and boot hire available.
Snowboard with Instructor Evenings
Whether you are a snowboarder who needs to brush
up on your basic turns, or an expert who wants the added challenge
of the ramps and rails, “Snowboard with Instructors”
night is for you.

Please note: Those taking part in “Open
practice” and “Snowboard with the Instructors”
must have reached a competent level of proficiency. Any snowboarder
not deemed to be at a suitable standard will be asked to leave the
slope for his or her own safety.
